Plant-rich, low saturated

King's College London. "Plant-rich, low saturated-fat diet associated with reduced psoriasis severity." ScienceDaily. ScienceDaily, 21 February 2025. <www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2025/02/25022112...

Plant-rich, low saturated

Researchers from King's College London conducted a study to investigate the relationship between dietary patterns and psoriasis severity. A total of 1,200 participants were included in the analysis, all of whom had been diagnosed with psoriasis. The researchers evaluated the participants' diets using a food frequency questionnaire and categorized them into three groups: plant-rich, animal-based, or mixed-diet.

The results showed that individuals who followed a plant-rich diet had significantly lower psoriasis severity compared to those on an animal-based or mixed-diet. This association remained even after adjusting for potential confounding factors such as age, sex, and body mass index. The study's findings suggest that adopting a diet rich in plant-based foods and low in saturated fats may have therapeutic benefits for individuals with psoriasis.

It is essential to note that further research is needed to confirm these results and establish the long-term effects of dietary patterns on psoriasis severity. However, this study contributes to our understanding of the potential role of nutrition in managing psoriasis symptoms.
